AS the race for the presidency of the World Bank hots up, Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has thrown her weight behind the candidacy of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Nigeria’s Minister of Finance.
Orji is the governor of state where Okonjo-Iweala hails from. According to him, all Abians at home and in Diaspora are solidly behind her, being a worthy ambassador of Abia State   The governor who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Ugochukwu Emezue, said that  “as a daughter of the state, this is the time to give her all the support she needs to succeed especially through prayers and other diplomatic means”.

Orji said that the candidate has all it takes to head the bank. Looking at Okonjo-Iweala’s records, Orji said that she had always diligently and efficiently discharged her responsibilities in whatever positions she had found herself in the past.

Meanwhile, member representing Uvwie constituency in  Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Efe Ofoburuku yesterday, said Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was the right person World Bank presidency. He urged  Nigerians across the world to solicit support for Okonjo-Iweala.
He said: “The Nigerian Finance Minister is somebody who has postulated theories. She has proffered solution to various economies across the world that worked. I think this time around, she is the  right person for the job; though I want to say the right man for the job this time around is a woman.
“I heard a few days ago that Mr. President is going on a seven-day  leave. This is not the time for leave unless he is taking the leave to go and campaign for her. It is a challenge to all Nigerians. Personally, I don’t have the required contacts across the world but I have already gone on my knees praying for her.”
“The Senate President should wake up; the Speaker of the House of Representative should wake up.

Nigeria Ambassadors across the world should wake up, they should reach out to the leadership of the countries where they are serving, nobody should sleep.
“This is a challenge to Africa, this is a challenge to Nigeria, this is our project, the way we took the
election of President Goodluck Jonathan as our personal project this is how we should take that of Okonjo-Iweala as our personal project.”
