Free on-net calls for lecturers, students from MultiLinks


Fixed wireless phone operator, Multi-Links has offered students and lecturers in tertiary institutions across the nation free on net calls following the introduction of a new service tagged “Campus Calling Circle”.

Although the new product is only available for some universities and polytechnics, students and lecturers on this service irrespective of the campus, Multi-Links said would be able to initiate and make free on net calls to other students and/or lecturers who subscribe to this calling circle group service. While calls to Multi-Links’ customers outside the group is 10k per second, calls to other networks is 20k per second.

Product Manager, Multi-Links, Mr. Kayode Aluko explained that the calling circle makes it possible for members within a group to talk to each other free of charge.

He said that apart from the unlimited free on net calls for those within the calling circle group, other benefits include 50 free on-net SMS per month, complete financial control of their budget on airtime, per second billing, super voice clarity, attractive and affordable call tariff within and outside the network as well as very low international call rates starting from N10/min to United States of America, Canada and UK.
Calls to India and China can be made at a flat rate of N12 per minute.

Institutions already integrated on this special platform, according to him, include: University of Lagos (Unilag), Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), Lagos State University (LASU), The Polytechnic, Ibadan, University of Ibadan (UI), Lead University, Ibadan, University of Ilorin (Unilorin), College of Education, Ilorin, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife.

Others are the Redeemer’s University, Mowe, Babcock University, Ilishan, Tai Solarin University, Ijebu Ode, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Federal University of Technology, Akure and many more are still being signed on to the scheme.
