MTN Nigeria launches international telepresence solution
TELECOMMUNICATIONS firm, MTN Nigeria in
collaboration with Cisco and TATA Communications has upgraded its MTN
ePresence to be able to operate at an international capacity in a bid to
make customers do business beyond borders in a cost effective manner.
Speaking in Lagos at the media launch of the MTN ePresence (International) recently, the Chief Executive Solution Officer (CESO), Mr. Babatunde Osho said, “MTN business is excited and proud to offer this service in partnership with Cisco and TATA Communications that owns TelePresence public rooms in major cities across the world such as China, New York, London, Dubai, India and so on.”
Osho added that apart from the MTN ePresence being international, some unique services that differentiate it from the former MTN ePresence are now available.
According to him, MTN ePresence now offers a Data sharing facility, which allows customers using the service to view presentations and other documents at the same time in all locations on separate screens during the sessions.
Secondly, he said MTN ePresence can now be installed in various offices at their clients premises and not just their boardrooms.
“This is through a cost efficient model, which consists of smaller screens and simpler installation requirements. This means C-level executives can meet with their counterparts, business partners across the world from the comfort and convenience of their offices,“ he said.
The CESO also said the MTN ePresence scheduling website portal is now accessible to all customers. He said customers can now schedule meetings by themselves at their convenience and easily make payments using their credit cards and other means. “This makes it faster and less dependent on any third parties,“ he explained.
With this innovation, Osho said MTN Nigeria is trying to bring communication in Nigeria to a first class globally. The MTN ePresence is aimed at getting more done, taking business decisions faster and generally increase productivity at a much lower cost.
In a similar vein, the Managing Director of Cisco Systems Incorporation, Mr. Said Rechchad described the partnership between MTN Nigeria and Cisco as “nuclear fusion.”
Rechchad thanked the MTN Nigeria for launching the service in the country because he believes it will influence business positively. He also encouraged businesses to take advantage of that service and tap into its resources.
MTN ePresence, which is a video-based solution that has a fully secured network as validated by third party auditors. The maximum length of time an MTN ePresence session can last is 14 hours.
