It was a bloody Friday in Mubi, Adamawa State as gunmen suspected to
be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect shot and killed 20 people who
had gathered for a meeting.
The people who were killed around noon
were members of an Igbo community in town and Street Journal gathered
that they had gathered for a meeting of their communal association.
Less than 24 hours before the Mubi incident,
6 members of the Deeper
Life Church in Gombe, were killed when gunmen swooped on the church.
Ten
other members were injured in the incident.
The renewed attacks came on the heels of the expiration of the
three-day ultimatum given by the Boko Haram sect to Southerners to leave
the Northern part of Nigeria.
The sect had launched attacks on some churches last Christmas, killing a yet to be ascertained number of people.
